Ontario Municipal Elections: Oct 26th
First: Oct 24th provincial elections
Provincial elections are happening on Oct 24th. Our votes made change happen on October 17th; let's mobilize again this Saturday.
A week ago, we celebrated a huge win in Vancouver, with 73% of winning candidates committed to some or all of our Palestine platform, which included the AFC pledge. Check our VPV Victory Post. And the THANK YOU post to everyone who made this victory happen.
Today, we celebrate more leaders stepping forward to do the same. Your vote matters. And who runs our provinces matters. Because Palestine is the litmus test of our time.
Some provincial candidates reached out to us expressing their decision to endorse the AFC pledge right after the win in the City of Vancouver. We reached out to the rest of over 350 provincial candidates running for election on October 24th, by text and by email, asking if they would follow in the footsteps of almost 500 Apartheid-Free Communities signatories across the country, including four cities and two political parties, to publicly stand for human rights, including those of the people of Palestine.
The Green Party released a statement on November 19, 2025 formally opposing genocide, apartheid, and colonial oppression. You will see 21 Green candidates have also responded to our call individually.
Four candidates from the Communist Party of BC also endorsed.
The Conservative Party sent a note, via one candidate, saying that they would respond to our call centrally on their website, but have yet to do so.
The NDP have not responded to our communications.
Below you will find the list of 25 candidates who endorsed the Apartheid-Free Communities pledge. Please also share the list in your circles/mailing lists/group chats:

Please check the following groups/links for lists of all candidates who endorsed AFC in each city:

Oakville: Over a dozen candidates in Oakville have signed the Apartheid-Free Community (AFC) pledge, and that is a win worth celebrating.
Through continued advocacy and conversations with candidates, Oakville 4 Palestine has worked to ensure that the Palestinian community is heard. After years of being silenced and pushed aside, the fact that so many candidates are now publicly voicing their support shows that the tides are shifting. Their signing of the AFC pledge proves that being against genocide and standing against injustice and oppression is not a controversial stance. There is still work ahead, but O4P's efforts are making a difference and proving that when the community stands together, change is possible. Follow Oakville For Palestine.
