This is Update 2/6 regarding The Vote Palestine Vancouver campaign. Here are some highlights:
-
We have given candidates a few more days to state their positions on our platform…check our website when we go public with the responses of those who endorsed thus far on September 28th- right before the advanced voting on Oct 2nd.
-
We have more than 1500 voter pledges just one week into the campaign period!
-
We have over 50 endorsing organizations and businesses urging their members to Vote Palestine!
Avoid lineups and mail your vote in!
Vancouver voters can apply for a mail-in ballot until Oct 5th by applying either online or by calling 3-1-1. You’ll receive a package by mail. Fill it out and mail it back (postage is free) or drop it in a designated Vote by Mail Drop Box such that it will be received by October 17th.
Surrey voters can similarly apply online to vote by mail until Oct 14th.
Delta voters can request online to vote by mail until Oct 2nd.
White Rock voters can call 604-541-2278 or apply online to vote by mail.
Maple Ridge voters can apply online to vote by mail. Applications available starting September 16th.
Nanaimo voters can apply online to vote by mail by October 6th if they want a ballot package mailed to them.
Make an informed choice!
We have been posting endorsements from municipal candidates - when they have chosen to go public - on the Vote Palestine Vancouver Instagram. The entire list of candidate responses to our platform will soon be listed on the Vote Palestine Vancouver website. On the website, you will also find petitions for the other cities who took this campaign on: Surrey, White Rock, Nanaimo, Maple Ridge and Delta.

Grow the rebellion!
Vancouverites declared our city a “Nuclear Weapons-Free Zone” in 1983 and BC unions fought South African Apartheid for almost two decades. We can rise again, together, in solidarity with Palestinian human rights in our city and across the globe. We are a non-partisan grassroots movement insisting that none of us are free until we are all free.
TAKE THE CHALLENGE: Email 2-6 of your friends this upcoming week and let them know about this campaign, so that this October, BC voters of conscience unite to vote with their hearts.
